2019 Season Starts For Blackstar Golfers In Australia And Mauritius

The 2019 European Tour season actually started last week in Hong Kong where Aaron Rai successfully secured his maiden tour victory, winning by a single shot from Matt Fitzpatrick.

The  Tour stages 2 tournaments this week, with the Welsh duo of Oliver Farr and Walton Heath's  David Boote playing in the Australian PGA Champoinship at the RACV Royal Vines Resort, Queensland, this event is co-sanctioned with the Australian PGA Tour.

Stuart Manley, who along with Bradley Dredge finished 16th in the World Cup Of Golf in Melbourne moves on to Mauritius for the Afrasia Bank Mauritius Open. Manley succesfully regained his full playing status on the 2019 Euroepan Tour by finishing 9th on the 2018 Challenge Tour, he is joined in Mauritius  by Rhys Enoch from Truro Golf Club. This event is a tri-sanctioned event with the Asian Tour and South Africa's Sunshine Tour.

Spain, China and Zambia for Blackstar golfers

Oliver Farr returns to action this week at the Spanish Open, as the 2018 Race To Dubai has its first event in Europe. The Spanish Open is in Madrid this week at the Centro Nacional de Golf, this will be the 91st staging of this historic event. The field is headed by Spain's John Rahm.

The Challenge Tour heads east to China for the Belt and Road Clorful Yunnan Open at Kunming Golf Club, this is a co-sanctioned event between the PGA Challenge Tour and the China Golf Tour. Jack Munro from Australia, who has recently signed with Blackstar Golf Ltd plays his second event on the 2018 Challenge Tour, having finished 24th at the Kenya Open in March.

Rhys Enoch retruns to to the Sunshine Tour, which will be having its season opening event at the Zanaco Masters at Lusaka GC in Zambia, Rhys will play the on the PGA Challenge Tour and the Sunshine Tour in 2018, having finished in the top 50 on the Sunshine Tour final rankinga after his stunning victory at the Cape Town Open in February. Rhys is joined in Zambia by Durban based Martin Rohwer who starting his second full season on the Sunshine Tour.

Challenge Tour Grand Final spots up for grabs

Now the regular season of the PGA European Tour has  finished, the spotlight moves to the Challenge Tour which this week heads to the UAE for the Ras Al Khaimah 2016 Golf Challenge, this event is making its debut on the Challenge Tour Schedule. After the conclusion of this tournament the top 45 players on the rankings head to Oman next week for the season ending NBO Golf Classic Grand Final, where the top 15 players from the 2016 Order Of Merit gain full status on the lucrative 2017 Race To Oman.

Holland and Ireland are this weeks stops on the European and European Challenge Tours.

Marcus Fraser, Stuart Manley and Micheal Hoey are all playing at the KLM Dutch Open at the custom built Dutch GC, 

Exciting times this week for The Dutch, as it hosts its first European Tour event having only opened its doors in 2011.

A member of the prestigious network of European Tour Destinations, The Dutch’s signature Championship course was designed by Europe’s 2010 Ryder Cup-winning Captain Colin Montgomerie, in conjunction with European Golf Design.

The Challenge Tour returns to Mount Wolseley for the second year for the Volopa Irish Challeneg, where Chris Selfridge, Brian Casey, Rhys Enoch and Jimmy Mullen are all competing.

66 Final Round For Ollie Farr

Ollie Farr produced a stunning best of the day round of 66 in the Swedish Challenge,but eventually lost out in a 3 way play-off with England's Ben Stow and the tournament winner Joel Stalter.

After all three made par at the first play-off hole, the par four 18th, it was Stalter who raised his game, hitting an exquisite second shot for a birdie chance which he took full advantage of.
 
Ollie now has moved to 21st in the Race To Oman, the top 15 at the end of the season gain full playing status on the 2017 PGA European Tour.
 
The Challenge Tour remains in Scandanavia this week with the Finish Challenge, where BlackStar are represented by Ollie, Rhys Enoch, Brian Casey and former Walker cup player Jimmy Mullen

Austria and Belgium for BlackStar golfers.

The golf season is really now well and truly under way, this week 8 out 10 BlackStar golfers are playing.

Stuart Manley and Micheal Hoey are again playing on the main tour, this week it is the Lyoness Open in Austria, where Chris Wood who recently won the BMW PGA Championship returns to defend his title, that he won last year in such dramatic fashion.

BlackStar are represented on the Challenge Tour by 6 players, Chris Selfridge, Ollie Farr, Brian Casey, Rhys Enoch, Ben Robinson and Devon's Jimmy Mullen.

PGA European Tour, Challenge Tour and Europro Tour

 

Next week BlackStar Golf have 2 players at the PGA Championship at Wentworth, 2 players at the Challenge Tour event in the Czech Republic and 2 players at the PGA EuroPro Tour event at Burhill Valley.

Marcus Fraser and Northern Ireland's Michael Hoey are both playing in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, the event is one of the biggest events on the European Tour, where  Byeong Hun An from Korea returns to defend his title he won in such dramatic fashion last year.

Chris Selfridge and Oliver Farr both go to the Czech Republic to play in the D+D Real Czech Challenge.

Jimmy Mullen and Rhys Enoch, both who finished in the top 10 in the EuroPro's opening event at Frilford Heath last week are both playing at Burhill Golf Club in the IFX International.

Chris Selfridge finishes tied 4th in Spain.

Chris Selfridge got his 2016 campaign on the European Challenge Tour underway with a 4th place finish at the Challenge De Madrid. Chris shot rounds of 66,70,70,70 to finish on 4 under par. The event was won by Scotland's Duncan Stewart on 8 under par.

With this been only the third event of the year on the Challenge Tour Chris moves up to 20th position on the Race To Oman rankings, the top 15 players at the end of the season automatically qualify for the 2017 Race To Dubai.

Oliver Farr finished T23 on level par, Rhys Enoch T46 and Ireland's Brian Casey T58. This week the Challenge Tour moves on to Turkey at the Turkish Airlines Challenge, where Oliver Farr will be looking to win the title he won in 2015, which helped him finish 10th on the final ranking list. Ollie is joined by Brian Casey, Rhys Enoch and 2016 Walker Cup player Jimmy Mullen.
